FEHA RS Contact Hour Submission

The FEHA bylaws require that you acquire at least 30 contact hours in continuing education (CE) each credentialing period.  These hours must be in the field of environmental health (food, water, wastewater, air, vector and pest control, hazardous materials and/or waste management, radiation, recreation, housing and institutional health and safety, occupational health and safety, program planning and legal aspects, or general environmental health and scientific concepts).

*The 30 hours are prorated for newly certified professionals.

*CE hours can be in-person or web-based trainings, including conferences, seminars, classes, lectures, and online trainings.

*If you have created and/or presented EH trainings, or wrote a Journal article, each can be granted up to 10 hours. Must be approved in advance by RS Board

*Journal article tests are typically worth one hour each.

*College EH-related courses can count, 16 hours for a semester/13 hours a quarter.

The biennial Registration fee is $40 for FEHA members, and $60 for non-members.

Your must pay the RS Renewal Fee online by clicking on the Events tab on the top of the FEHA website or CLICK HERE

If you have a new name, mailing address, email, or telephone number, we need that information corrected. Please make sure your FEHA member profile is updated with your current information

If you have retired after at least 15 years of EH service and wish to obtain the Emeritus status, please send an email to RSboard@feha.org to receive further instructions.  If you are on active military duty, your active status can be ‘frozen’ and later re-started. Please email RSBoard@FEHA.org for more information on active military status.

To verify FEHA Registration Board receipt of hours:

In your account on the FEHA website, go into your profile (click your name at the top of the page) and update your hours in the "RS Continuing Education Hours" field. We will update the "RS Board Submitted Hours" field often and should match the number of hours you have entered.

If your FEHA account RS DETAILS do not show “Yes” to all 3 fields, your RS renewal is not complete.

If you do not have an account on the FEHA website, you MUST sign up for a free RS Member account where you can keep track of your own hours and compare it to the hours on file with the RS Board. This also allows you to keep your contact information up-to-date and ensure you receive the latest RS news.
